Synergy

When Cass is accused of sexual assault by a client, her younger sister Jackie, a promising defense criminal attorney, decides to take over the case without blinking. When Lisa, their third sister, shows up in town for solidarity, realizes there is more to the allegations than what she was told. Synergy is an original one-act drama that reflects on the intricacies of sisterhood while testing its ties and boundaries.

Federica Borlenghi (Writer & Director) is a multidisciplinary Italian artist based in Brooklyn. Federica has developed and presented work at various venues in NYC including The Tank, Alchemical Studios, Our Lady of Pompeii Theater, Dixon Place, Hudson Guild, The Barrow Group. She has collaborated and worked at theaters and organizations such as The Bushwick Starr, The Signature Theater, Center Theater Group, The Blackout Experience and Governors Island. Federica is the Founding Artistic Director of HERE WE GO: a Site-Specific Production Company LLC. Federica is also Italytime Cultural Center’s Production Consultant (‘18) as well as a Rising Sun Production Company and Dirty Laundry Theater's Ensemble Member. Federica is grateful and blessed to have the opportunity to return to Denver Fringe with such a phenomenal cast for her first in person show since the beginning of the pandemic. 

Judette Elliston (Composer) is a Haitian-Canadian vocalist, composer, and songwriter based in Brooklyn,New York. While her artistic voice is rooted in jazz, singer-songwriter and folk influences canalso be heard in her music. In 2016, Judette received a merit scholarship from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music and relocated to New York. An active bandleader and side-woman, Elliston has performed at venues and festivals such as Lincoln Center, The Victoria Jazz Festival, Williamsburg Music Center, and Dodge 112. Judette has also been featured as an actor and vocalist in interdisciplinary theatre projects such as Finn Carroll’s “The Firefighter’s Opera” and Covi Brannan’s “The Man in The Window” (The Here Festival). In addition to performing her compositions with her quartet, Elliston leads a Haitian folk music project where she reinterprets traditional Haitian songs. In 2020, Elliston was the first jazz vocalist to be awarded The Richard F. Gold Career Grant from the Shoshana Foundation. Currently, Elliston is working towards recording an EP of her original music and bringing her Haitian folk project to different venues and communities across the country.

CAST

Alexa Roosevelt (Cass): is a born and raised actor, singer, and dancer from sunny South Florida. She currently resides in Brooklyn, New York where she attended SUNY Purchase’s BFA Acting Conservatory Program. Since graduation she has worked as a Creative Consultant & Talent Manager for Astarte Creative and Dances of Vice. When she is not auditioning for film or theatre, she is making it herself. Her most recent experimental short "Higher" is set to premiere at Berlin Indie Film Festival next November! She is thrilled to be working on this project alongside women she has admired so much throughout the years. Follow Alexa on instagram @alexaroosevelt for any future updates.  


Taylor Cozort (Jackie) is a New York based, Denver raised actor and writer and alumni from the New School for Drama ('19). You might recognize her from her performance of, The Odds Are Good, But The Goods Are Odd at the Denver Fringe Festival 2020. Taylor is always grateful for the chance to perform in her home state, and is honored to be a part of such a special project. Allison Larned (Lisa): is a Colorado native, Los Angeles based actress, and recent graduate of The New School for Drama. You will most likely catch her playing a sad ghost or your favorite girl next door, in favorite performances such as Ghost Girl (Girl), Language of Angels (Celie), and From Another House (Katie). She has also been an assistant to the Calleri and House Casting teams, and has dabbled as a fashion stylist in New York. She is so pleased to have you join this fantastic trio of sisters for a wild ride!
