So You Want to Write a Play?

A playwriting workshop for beginners: anyone can write!

Is your child constantly telling you wild and imaginative stories? Is your child interested in writing or learning how to write, but doesn't quite know where to start? Does your child just simply seem to crave a new and interesting creative outlet? Well look no further! In this beginner workshop, your young writer can come and learn some awesome basic building blocks and tools that will help them to explore the wonderful style of playwriting. Perhaps by the end of the workshop, they may even have an outline for a project they can continue to work on over the summer! This workshop is for kids ages 6-12.

Workshop leader Rita DiSibio is an aspiring actor and writer in Denver, Colorado. Rita holds a BFA in Acting from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and while at CU Boulder, they had four of their original plays accepted to their department's New Play Festival. During their senior year, they wrote and produced their own full length original play called Pandora. For the past two summers, they have also participated in Curious New Voices, a playwriting program with Curious Theatre Company.
